Embracing Life with Metastatic Breast Cancer
(MEDIA EVENT)
The EMBRACE event with Pfizer Malaysia and the Breast Cancer Welfare Association was a meaningful endeavour for us. Through it, we gained a deeper knowledge about metastatic breast cancer and the physical, emotional, and social tolls it can take on a person and their family.
We also gathered the media to join us in hearing from leading experts on the topic of mBC: Ranjit Kaur, President of the Breast Cancer Welfare Association of Malaysia,
and Professor Emeritus Dato’ Dr. Yip Cheng Har,
EXCO Member of BCWA and Professor Emeritus of Surgery of University Malaya.
One of the key goals of this event was to discuss meaningful life past an mBC diagnosis. Thus, we invited Encik Iznan, a husband and caregiver to an mBC patient. He shared candidly about his and his wife’s experience with mBC, providing real insight into the kind of support needed for those living
with the disease.
Overall, the EMBRACE event was a wonderful opportunity for us to educate ourselves about the realities of mBC as well as join in the effort to raise awareness about the condition.

As part of the larger Embrace Campaign, we were given the opportunity to collaborate with COMINGSOON Productions to produce a video. We planned it to give an extraordinary woman living with metastatic breast cancer an opportunity to share her story and tell us about how she continues to embrace life post diagnosis.
We approached the multi-talented Hannah Tan, to join us on this project because of her positive outlook on life. Hannah, herself, has such an amazing story to tell, so we knew we could trust this one in her hands. She came to us with ideas on how to adjust the script to better match her voice (which we were happy to oblige) and came to set so prepared that we wrapped way ahead of schedule.
